Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Next Time Design ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Baller Score mobile application for phone and watch (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Accounts and Identity

The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

To enable certain app features, the App may sign in anonymously in the background. This creates a random app identifier. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity by name, email address, or phone number, although features you choose to use — such as sharing a match — may include names and photos that you add yourself. You can view this identifier in the App's Settings if you need to contact us about your data (see Section 9).

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Match and player data — match scores, statistics, and the player names, labels, or photos you enter for a match. This data is primarily stored on your device. If you use cloud-based features — such as the live dashboard or sharing a match with other players — the relevant match data, including the player names and player photos you added for that match, is uploaded to our cloud services so the shared results can be displayed. Shared match data is automatically deleted after a short period (see Section 7).
  • Feedback — if you choose to send feedback, we collect your message, an optional rating, and basic technical context, such as app version, device model, operating system version, and subscription status, to help us respond and improve the App.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and profile information — device model, operating system version, app version, language, timezone, region, paired-watch information, and your selected favorite sport.
  • Usage data — app opens, session activity, screens viewed, and feature interactions.
  • Crash and performance data — error logs and performance metrics to help us improve stability.
  • Subscription data — if you purchase a subscription, our payments provider processes your purchase and entitlement status. Payment is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Health and fitness data on your watch

If you use the App on a smartwatch and grant permission, the App reads heart rate and active energy (calories) burned during a match — on Apple Watch through Apple HealthKit, and on Wear OS through Android Health Services.

We use this data only to show health-related match insights to you, such as match intensity and calories burned.

Health and fitness data is summarized per match and stored locally on your device and synced to your paired phone. It is not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties. Health and fitness data is never used for advertising.

3. How We Use the Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide core features such as scoring, statistics, match summaries, and watch–phone sync.
  • Provide cloud-based features such as the live dashboard, match sharing, and feedback.
  • Improve and optimize the App's features, stability, and performance.
  • Understand how users interact with the App and analyze aggregate usage trends.
  • Diagnose technical issues and fix bugs.
  • Process and manage subscriptions and unlock premium features.
  • Respond to feedback you send us.
  • Deliver optional push notifications, only if you grant notification permission.
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the App.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the App, subscriptions, premium features, scoring, syncing, and support.
  • Legitimate interests — to improve the App, understand aggregate usage, prevent abuse, diagnose crashes, maintain security, and develop better features. This includes analytics and crash reporting. In the EU, EEA, and UK, analytics runs in a privacy-preserving mode that does not store or access identifiers on your device and does not build a profile of you. You can switch analytics off at any time in the App's Settings (see Section 9).
  • Consent — for device permissions you explicitly grant, such as health data access and push notifications.
  • Legal obligations — where we need to keep records or comply with applicable law.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate and improve the App:

  • Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, and related Firebase services. These are used for anonymous identity, usage and device data, crash reports, sync, cloud features, notifications, and app reliability.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase entitlement management.
  • Apple HealthKit and Android Health Services — on-device health and fitness data on your watch, as described in Section 2.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play — payment processing, subscription management, and app updates.

These third-party services process data under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks, and the App does not display ads.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties.

We share data only when necessary to:

  • Operate and improve the App.
  • Provide features you choose to use, including showing a shared match to the people you share it with.
  • Process subscriptions and premium access.
  • Diagnose crashes and technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Data may be processed by the service providers listed in Section 5. Some of these providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses or the providers' own approved transfer mechanisms.

7. Data Retention

Locally stored data, such as match history and health summaries, remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.

Shared match data uploaded for the live dashboard or match sharing — including the player names and photos in that match — is automatically deleted from our servers within 5 days. Deleting a shared match in the App also removes it from our servers. If you re-share a match using the share button, a new copy is created and the 5-day period starts again.

Anonymous or pseudonymous usage, diagnostic, and profile data held by our service providers is retained only for as long as necessary to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the App, or as required by law. After that, it is deleted or further anonymized.

Feedback you send us may be retained for as long as necessary to understand, respond to, and resolve the issue or suggestion.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at or intended for children, and is not designed for children below the minimum age required to use online services or to download apps in your country. Eligibility to download the App is also governed by the age requirements and parental-control settings of the Apple App Store and Google Play.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You have choices regarding how your data is used:

  • Health permissions — you can grant or revoke the App's access to health and fitness data at any time in your device's Health or privacy settings.
  • Notifications — you can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings.
  • Analytics — you can turn analytics off at any time in the App's Settings. In the EU, EEA, and UK it is off by default and runs only in a privacy-preserving mode that does not store or access identifiers on your device.
  • Subscriptions — you can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
  • Shared matches — you can delete a shared match in the App to remove it from our servers, and shared matches are automatically deleted within 5 days regardless.
  • Your dataSettings → Privacy → Delete my data permanently deletes your matches, players, and photos from your device and from our servers, without needing to contact us (see Section 9).
  • Uninstall — uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device and stops further data collection from that device.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of the personal data we process about you. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or request a copy of your data.

Because the App has no account system, the data we hold is pseudonymous and we generally cannot link it to you by name or email. You do not need to contact us to have it erased: the App can do it directly. Under Settings → Privacy → Your data, the Delete my data control permanently removes your matches, players, and photos from your device and from our servers. The request is authorised by the App's own anonymous identifier, so you do not have to give us any personal information — or prove who you are — to make it. This action cannot be undone.

If you would prefer that we act on your behalf, or you wish to exercise another right, contact us at info@ballerscore.app. Note that because the data we hold is pseudonymous, we may be unable to locate it from an email alone, and we are not required to collect additional information solely to identify you.

If you are in the EU or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data we collect. Cloud data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App or on our website.

If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, where required by law.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means that the updated policy applies from that point forward.
